  1. Hey, I didn't realise you had a new blog so now I will have to take some time and read about what you have been up to. I did see a tent and snow while scrolling through quickly so I do hope you are not camping in snow. Brrr!

  3. It was great to see you all on the new property. That was a good price you paid for that much land, but did that also include the land tax? I've never bought in NSW, but my mum used to work for a property developer there, and they were constantly begrudging the land tax. Or perhaps that was just a business arrangement, and doesn't apply to owner occupied land?

  4. the government has their hand out no matter what you do so yes the tax was on top of what we payed plus all the conveyancing and solicitors fees. still under the 100 thousand mark so we were pretty happy with that.

    1. I would be happy with only paying that much too. :) Land prices in Queensland are very high in comparison. You cannot buy over 100 acres for under $100,000, unless it has a special covenant on the land which doesn't allow land development or living on site.

    1. I thought the land tax was separate to stamp duty, as we also pay stamp duty in Qld. When mum decided to move here from NSW, he told her how lucky she was, as we didn't have to pay the land tax. Maybe it was just a land developer thing, which doesn't apply to owner occupied sales?

$1300 seems very reasonable, compared to the amount of land you got to purchase.
